Children of all ages are welcome to attend any church service. For your convenience, we have a room just off the sanctuary where you can enjoy the service, but you can have quiet for your sleeping baby. We also have a bright and colorful nursery downstairs where you can listen to the service while your busy little one plays.
Our Sunday School Program
Children ages 3 years old to Grade 5 will enjoy our exciting, hands-on Sunday School program. After a brief start to the service upstairs (fun songs and story time), children head downstairs to meet with their shepherd (leader). Stories or lessons are taught in a 4 week rotation, where children learn about the story and participate in different ways each week. Each room that the children go to offers a fun-filled, hands-on learning experience. Learning in the Loaves and Fishes Café, Uncle Norv's Imaginarium, The Theatre, and Creation Station ensures that each story is experienced in many ways.
Which room will be your child's favourite?
The Loaves and Fishes Café is always a fast favourite. Shepherds bring their class to the downstairs kitchen. Children love to put on the aprons, roll up their sleeves and make a special snack or edible art work to enjoy while learning about our session topic. The delicious aromas from this class drift upstairs. The congregation is delighted when we make enough to share!
The Creation Station allows all our future Picasso's to create a beautiful piece of artwork. Children learn about the story topic and make something special to take home. We use glitter, clay, cardboard, markers, fabric, paint, beads, and so much more!!
Uncle Norv's Imaginarium, named in honour of Norv Christopherson, our first Sunday School Superintendent, is a fun-filled room! Children act, use puppets, and dress up to experience the story we are learning about. This room always includes exciting games to get the children moving around.
It's hard to miss the smell of savoury popcorn coming from The Theatre on a Sunday morning. The class that goes to this room might just enjoy a bag of popcorn and a drink while watching a movie about our session topic. Wait until you see this room, complete with real movie theatre chairs!!
Our Sunday School Year
We welcome children new to our program on any Sunday, September to May. Parents are always welcome to join their children downstairs to see what all the excitement is about. We have many opportunities for volunteers to help out during the year. In December, our Sunday School and Youth are usually part of a Christmas Pageant. There are opportunities for children of all ages to be involved.
