Welcome to Oak Bank United Church! Like many other experiences in life, walking through the door of a church can be intimidating, especially if you are new to the area. We warmly welcome you to join us and are happy to answer any questions you may have about our church and community. We hope you will make Oak Bank United your church and spiritual home.

What can I expect at Sunday morning worship?

When you enter the doors of Oak Bank United, you will be warmly welcomed by our greeter. If this is your first time visiting, please let our greeter know so you can sign our Guest Book as a record of your visit.  Our Sunday worship service begins at 10:45 am and ends around 12:00 noon.

We are a spirited, caring, and welcoming congregation. We love to laugh and sing, and we especially enjoy the enthusiasm of the children! Through our worship and fellowship, we experience God’s love for us and explore and grow our faith both individually and together as a community.

What about my kids?

We believe children are NOT ONLY the FUTURE of the church; they are very much the PRESENT and we celebrate that!

Children are always welcome to stay in church during worship or they may attend Sunday School programming downstairs. For your convenience, we have a room just off the sanctuary where you can enjoy the service, but you can have quiet for your sleeping baby. We also have a bright and colorful nursery downstairs where you can listen to the service while your busy little one plays.

Each Sunday, we begin worship together as a whole congregation. We start out by celebrating birthdays and usually singing a few fun congregational songs. Each week, a children's story is presented by our Minister or a special guest. The children then go to their Sunday School/Youth programming at around 11:00 am.

Please feel free to accompany your children downstairs. You may choose to stay downstairs or return to worship, leaving your little ones in the capable care of our Sunday School shepherds. See our Sunday School Ministry for more information.

Where do I park?

There is ample parking around the building and surrounding streets. Reserved handicap parking spots are available.

Is the church accessible?

The church and hall are wheelchair accessible through the entrance north of the main doors. Handicap parking is available directly in front of this entrance.

An elevator provides access to the lower level classrooms from the main level hallway. A handicap accessible washroom is available off the narthex and hall.

What do I wear?

Some people like to dress up for church, while others prefer to wear more casual clothes. We welcome you to worship with us as you feel most comfortable.

How can I learn more and get involved?

Feel free to speak to anyone on our ministry team or in the congregation if you have questions. You can also do one or more of the following:

  • Check out the notice board for upcoming events and sign-up opportunities.
  • Ask our greeter about a possible tour of the church building.
